I wore this to go apply for jobs a few weeks ago. I also wore shoes that day, but I was clearly done with them by the time pictures entered the equation.
Chicago is getting some strange weather today; I'm glad I got home a little bit early and derby practice was cancelled. There were tornado sirens earlier, apparently. For now though, it is all pretty gentle, at least in my neighborhood. Time to listen to/watch the rain and drink a glass of red wine!

more casual than business
Since this is only week two, I'm still at the point with work where I dress juuust a little bit nicer, and a little less comfortably than I usually do in a business casual setting. I get the feeling that no one will bat an eye if I rock this ensemble to work though. Soon, soon.

not dead, will post more soon
Hi friends! I know you've heard these same apologies before, but I've been neglecting le blog. Rest assured my last three weekends have been filled with moments that have given me the warm fuzzies, like the ones pictured below. And the last two weeks have been devoted to learning my new job. I'll post more soon. I hope you are all well!

Hooray!
I discovered a new to me neighborhood thrift shop today...it is within easy walking distance from my condo. And less than a 5 minute walk from my train stop. Life is good :)

trying not to focus on the cat puke
Today, I came home from work to discover that one of my cats (I have a strong suspicion that I know which one) puked on my bed at least THREE times. Looks like I'm doing some laundry! Bah!
Anyway, I wore this comfy Target clearance rack dress to check out a blues band (with a couple of insanely talented members!) with some buddies. The print is hard to decipher from this distance, but it looks like a bunch of little hand-drawn stars, or asterisks. In reality this dress is a bit small on me, and a seam that creates a waistline sits higher than I like, but I still really like it. That is what is important!

interviews
I started my new job today! I'm still working on how/when I'll be posting to this blog, so bear with me.
These outfits are what I wore for my two interviews here in Chicago. The first one was for a fairly casual interview, and I wore the second to the interview that scored me the job! I'm so glad I'm done with interviews. That is stressful stuff.

some bright yellow yarn
Sheesh, sorry about all the blog silence recently. I haven't been all that fashionable recently with my staying at home most of the time, but that should change now that I will be starting a new job on Monday!
For now though, I leave you with knitting. The first picture is where I was yesterday morning, the second is from this morning. Slow but steady progress! I loooove the bright yellow merino yarn. It is brighter than it appears in the pictures. This is my first sweater-type project. So far it is fun, even though I already made a somewhat noticeable mistake. Oh well.
